Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
Protocol, multi-database search, dual independent screening, risk of bias, synthesis and certainty of evidence rating.
Health research agency
Avenzoar conducts systematic reviews, expert consensus, statistical analyses and real-world studies, and writes the publications that come out of them. Our applications, such as Mizan, bring this method to clinicians.
Methods recognized worldwide
Four areas of work held to the same standard: recognized methods, applied and documented at every step.
Protocol, multi-database search, dual independent screening, risk of bias, synthesis and certainty of evidence rating.
Design and facilitation of consensus for professional societies: panels, conflicts of interest, Delphi rounds, final report.
Articles, reviews, practice guidelines, study reports and responses to reviewers, following the standards for each study type.
Statistical analysis plans, meta-analyses, predictive models and real-world studies on registries and hospital databases.
Every project follows the same steps, whatever the service.
We frame the question with you, then set deliverables, timeline and budget.
The protocol is written before work starts, and registered where that is standard practice, for example on PROSPERO.
Dual independent review at key steps, and every decision traceable.
A methodologist who did not do the work checks its quality.
A report that meets publication standards, with the data and analysis code.
Practice guidelines, consensus and literature reviews.
Research projects, registries, biostatistics and methodological support for teams.
Literature reviews, real-world studies, statistical analyses and scientific writing.
Evidence syntheses to inform public health decisions.
Our application
Mizan tells clinicians whether a consensus answers their question, with its level of evidence and its date. When evidence is missing, it produces a graded review and brings peers together to build the recommendation.
Starting an SGLT2 inhibitor in patients aged 80 and over with type 2 diabetes and an eGFR around 35 mL/min
Question sent to the nephrology panel.
Avenzoar, born Ibn Zuhr, was a physician in 12th-century Seville. He is remembered for testing against observation what the authorities of his time took for granted.
Our emblem keeps what has identified us from the start, the golden disc and the calligraphic A. Behind the A, the shadow of an Andalusian physician evokes Ibn Zuhr; no authentic portrait of him exists.
We work for settings where international guidelines do not apply as written.
Tell us about your question or need. We will come back with a proposed method, timeline and budget.
